Cricut Imagine Nursery Ensemble

This is my first real big project with my new Imagine & it is so cute! I just love my new machine!! So much fun!

I have the nursery cart that came with my machine that I got on HSN, I have no one to give baby stuff to right now but I just had to make something with these cute little critters!

I made a grow chart, a baby banner, a catch all can, a wipees box, & a picture in a frame.

I wanted a kind of vintage look to this so each piece was inked with Tim Holtz Distress ink-Tea Dye, & I of course had to sew on each of them! Lots of scalloped, waved & rounded edges to keep it soft looking. I also used my Signo white pen to make white stitches on the green.

All of the letters and numbers are from the Hannah montanna cartridge using Daddy's Girl font. The banner cuts are from Calligraphy font.

On the growth chart I used pop dots on the animals so they would stand out.

The ribbon I used is actual vintage seam binding, it is just so pretty.

The wipee box is going to be handle a lot, so after I made all my pieces I used Mod Podge on them. I glued these pieces on using E-6000 so they would stick to the plastic better. The scallop cut on the top of the box is from the French Manor cart. Of course you need a stinky skunk on a wipee box.

The can is just a catch all for whatever you might need to throw into it, it is very simple but effective.

This frame has been hanging around my house forever & I could never get rid of it or figure out anything to do with it, it is perfect for this! It has 4 pieces of glass in it, in layers. I put a couple of pieces of each of the picture on all the glass so there is a lot of dimension, it really is super cute & of course looks better when you can actually see it in real life.

Work Spend Create

This is a layout that I made for the Cricut challenge & I used it for my Liftateer challenge this week also.
The journaling says-
I labor all week so that I can spend & create on the weekends. This Labor Day weekend Parker & I shopped & got some good bargains. We went to Hobby Lobby-Big Lots-$store-Walgreen's Personal Scrapbook& got some really great deals! I got the cute little fan for $4! Tim Holtz paper at HobLob for ½ price & I finally found the red flock@ PS. My new Cricut cart came in the mail. I got a new softball album for $6! I found a cute pair of green reading glasses @ the $ store. Cricut green lol. Then we went to Gattitown & ate & played. So now I am home & creating. Great weekend. We also got to see some hot air balloons landing.

Halloween House tutorial (kinda)

I am not good at tutorials, but I am great at answering questions! I am better in person so I can actually show you how to do it, that is why I would rather teach a class. Anyway I know most of you are far away so I will try to show you how to make this, PLEASE let me know if you have any questions! Here goes nothing! :)

I used chipboard. I cut the pieces as follows
the 2 large sides are 8½ x 6½
the 2 smaller sides are the same only they are turned opposite & you need to cut off the top 2 corners to make a peak for the roof to sit on.
the 2 roof pieces are 6½ x 9.
The base is 7½ x 10" & I used regular cardboard for this so it would be sturdier.

Now you need to cover all pieces with whatever paper you have decided on.

Next you need to put your holes in. I used my Bind-It-All & punched holes down the sides of the four pieces that will be assembled to make the 4 walls of the house.

Then I put it together using ribbon.
Then you also need to punch holes along the long sides of the roof, I used my owires to attach these together so the lid would open & close easily.

Then I glued the 4 walls down. I put a line of tacky glue & set the house on it, then as it started to dry I used hot glue & put a line in the front of the each wall & also on the back inside of the house so it makes it more sturdy. So there are 3 lines of glue holding it up.

Then I glued just one side of the roof to the house , but leave the other side opened so you can open & close it.

Then you are ready to decorate it however you want. You could also make a gingerbread house or Easter or whatever you wanted. Get creative! Have fun! Hope you enjoy this.
